RELIGION 109: The Jewish Tradition
Professor Ronald C. Kiener, Department of Religion
The purpose of this course is to help students acquire a systematic
understanding of the major concepts, rituals, holidays, and beliefs of
the religion Judaism. While no prior knowledge of Judaism is assumed, those
students who have engaged in previous Jewish study should view this course
as an opportunity to fit fragmented bits of knowledge together into a coherent
and sophisticated whole. For everyone else, this course will provide a
useful survey of the religion Judaism.
